So today as I was at work waiting on someone, I played around with MixMeister a little bit. MixMeister is a DJ mixing application that, in their own words, “lets the computer do the hard parts” (aka the fun parts, in my opinion). Basically it’s a way to beatmatch if you don’t know how to beatmatch. It’s also fun to play with when you have an hour of down time.
I used MixMeister to plan out the dubstep mix I want to record later on. Here it is.
Note: this was arranged in approximately twenty minutes. This software is extremely easy to work with. However, I would never release an official mix using this application, and I would never ever use it live. :-X
- Justin Timberlake - My Love (RUF Dubstep remix)
- Distance - Fallen (Vex’d Remix)
- Loefah - Rufage
- Darqwan - Ghost Not Memory
- Pinch - Punisher (Loefah’s SE25 Mix)
- Joker - JV Anderson
- Omen - Aphrodite
- Burial - Versus
- Digital Mystikz - Ancient Memories (Skream Remix)
- Goth-Trad - Cut End
- Clue Kid - Down and Dirty
- Skream vs. Paul Wall - Skreamin Sideways (DJ Lobsterdust Edit)
- Benga - Music Box
- Mala - Changes
- SNO - Back Yard Dub
Hm. I’ve been looking for something to help me plan mixes out. I’ve been using Tangerine and Mixed In Key to give me a little nudge in the right direction. I’ll have to check MixMeister out.
