Amitai Dubstep using Mixmeister – 8/20/07

Aug 20 2007

Mixmeister screen shot So today as I was at work waiting on someone, I played around with MixMeister a little bit. MixMeister is a DJ mixing application that, in their own words, “lets the computer do the hard parts” (aka the fun parts, in my opinion). Basically it’s a way to beatmatch if you don’t know how to beatmatch. It’s also fun to play with when you have an hour of down time.

I used MixMeister to plan out the dubstep mix I want to record later on. Here it is.

Note: this was arranged in approximately twenty minutes. This software is extremely easy to work with. However, I would never release an official mix using this application, and I would never ever use it live. :-X

Track list:

  1. Justin Timberlake – My Love (RUF Dubstep remix)
  2. Distance – Fallen (Vex’d Remix)
  3. Loefah – Rufage
  4. Darqwan – Ghost Not Memory
  5. Pinch – Punisher (Loefah’s SE25 Mix)
  6. Joker – JV Anderson
  7. Omen – Aphrodite
  8. Burial – Versus
  9. Digital Mystikz – Ancient Memories (Skream Remix)
  10. Goth-Trad – Cut End
  11. Clue Kid – Down and Dirty
  12. Skream vs. Paul Wall – Skreamin Sideways (DJ Lobsterdust Edit)
  13. Benga – Music Box
  14. Mala – Changes
  15. SNO – Back Yard Dub

  1. Hm. I’ve been looking for something to help me plan mixes out. I’ve been using Tangerine and Mixed In Key to give me a little nudge in the right direction. I’ll have to check MixMeister out.

  2. It’s extremely easy to use. Simple drag and drop interface. http://www.mixmeister.com/products_comparison.html
