Idea list

I have one of those phones that has a full keyboard and email capabilities. I also have an iPod. The three of us spend a lot of quality time on the metro together, where I make on-the-go playlists and email myself with ideas to use for mixes. Here are some of the ideas, direct copy/paste from my running list. I set up a gmail filter so everything with the subject “mix idea” goes directly into the list.

These are ideas that I haven’t used yet… But I might in the future.

• drop fight club soundtrack in dubstep mix. dust bros-chemical burn
• outkast b.o.b – loop “uno dos tres it’s on” part
• outkast – use “behold a lady” sped up
• outkast – loop “pink and blue” intro only! (”age aint nothing but a number” sample)
• nin slow songs to put on top of dubstep? maybe that remix of “the day the whole world went away” from the starfuckers single. “na na naaaa na na”
• use bloodclott breaks record over dubstep
• try the jew songs on top of dubstep? call it jewstep or judstep
• make a compilation of long annoying songs that are awesome. “so much love to give” “born slippy” “kong” (karyzma) find more, sort itunes by length. share it unmixed on zshare or something.
• beastie boys “slow and low” slowed down under something trippy. only beginning echo part. “let it go let yourself go slow and low that is the tempo” loop
• phoenix “if i ever feel better”

• loop intro of dirty vegas days go by under two other tracks

• use the thin white duke remix of that faint song. start it ~90 seconds in to the track
• the faint “glass danse” oakenfold remix? maybe for love mix cd
• go from prodiy “girls” regular to the geht noch remix somewhere in the middle
• Lil’maaz – mange du kebab / eat kebab (only a few ppl would get it though)
• idea – make a mix called “youtube” and play only the songs that are from funny youtube videos. look into VJing
• songs for mix for gf – johnny cash god’s gonna cut you down remix, pixies la la love you, junior senior, dismemberment plan, tv on the radio (she likes that band so should use it), call on me, stardust, kraftwerk, new order, david bowie, bob dylan (can i find a remix?), nelly furtado maneater maybe vs. hall and oates?, prozzak
