Idea list 2

Some more ideas. Just came up with this one, that is going to fucking rock everybody because it’s rock music. It sounds great, I just need to remember to bring my other laptop from the office so I can record it. Are you ready for this one!

These six songs… The first three go together, and the second three go together, and all six together are just a bundle of alternative rock except for the first two, that are really only there because they have the same time signature as the Smiths song, and also because they are awesome. So here it is:

3. Smiths – Panic (Live — the Rank version)
4. Death Cab for Cutie – We Laugh Indoors (EP version)
5. David Bowie – We Prick You
6. Foo Fighters – Everlong

OK here are some notes… YES I know Death Cab is lame, and Foo Fighters is lame. But these songs work so fucking well that I can’t not put them together.

Here are some more ideas I had since the last batch…

• loop Velvet revolver “superhuman” intro riff under a breakbeat
• use manson’s kiddie grinder off smells like children somewhere (it’ll work in any heavy dnb set or industrial set)
• use primus “wounded knee” in downtempo set
• kanye west flashing lights sped up
• bloodhound gang “right turn clyde” = underrated song
• drop prodigy “out of space” in the middle of dubstep set–I’ve done this live already and it’s brilliant
• put out a collection of annoying loops. Just loop the “best” (or worst) part of a song, play the loop for a minute, and that’s it. put them as individual MP3s and market it as a break collection. Some annoying loops: eurythmics “must be an angel”, “hey mickey” b*wtched cover, fleetwood mac “dreams”, orgy “dissension”, all the intros to all the rammstein tracks.”
• bob dylan “love sick” to leonard cohen “waiting for a miracle”
• barrington levy – when he is just toasting without music at the very beginning of “here i come” — BLAST the mids, and scratch over dubstep. someone already did a dubstep remix of the track so don’t use that one!!
• linton kwesi johnson independence thing, disk 2 track 4
• dubstep remix of bongo bong? exists?
• instrumental for sound and vision vs rosell james brown at breakdown — not sure what this means, I was driving and dictating to my girlfriend and I think something got lost in the translation
